This arrow shaft tapering tool is made in the USA. This tool holds a super heavy-duty blade that is hardened to a Rockwell 60 and sharpened using the latest CBN grinding and leather/paper wheel honing techniques.
The versatility of this tool allows you to use it with ease in any regular drill motor, cordless drill, snap-shuck impact tool, or even by hand.
Start spinning the tool with the shaft slightly inserted in the properly sized extension before making contact with the blade. When everything is spinning smoothly, slowly push the shaft into the blade.
The tool extensions give a longer plane to help align the tapers better on the shaft. The extensions have grooves around them to depict the different shaft sizes.
- 1 groove = 5/16"
- 2 grooves = 11/32"
- 3 grooves = 23/64"
The extensions are made a few thousandths oversized for all nominal shafting sizes. Shafting can vary in size due to swelling in humid climates, poor manufacturing, or finish build-up if you're working on finished shafts. If you must force the shaft into the extensions, stop and sand it down with 220 grit sand paper until it fits.
